Pain In An Answered Prayer

Below is my journey in writing 'Pain In An Answered Prayer', my first autobiography book.

Wow!Praise God it's finally out! My autobiography book inspired by God entitled 'Pain In An Answered Prayer' is finally published! I received it on 3 Nov 2010. Yay! and double yay!I'm so overjoyed and thrilled! Can't believe it, it's been 3 years writing and rewriting the book engagingly.Thank God for His strength and grace which enabled me to persevere.

The purpose of me writing this book was to obey God's calling and leading to write it.He was the one who inspired, mandated me to write and used it to reach out to those suffering from the same medical condition as me for His glory and the extension of His kingdom.That also means it's God's book and not my book as it was His inspiration that I wrote this book.

I started writing this book in May 2006.The 3 years journey of writing has been incredibly tough and challenging but at the end was fulfilling and rewarding. I faced many obstacles, hindrances and discouragement during those years (2006-2009) when I was writing it. I fell ill, struggled to cope with my full time job at a legal firm and serving as a secretary in Hospital Visitation Ministry, SIBKL. Initially, I didnt get the moral and financial support from my family members as they objected but after much prayer and discussion with my mum and oldest sister they understood my reason for writing and agreed to allow me to continue writing and supported me in encouraging me. The best part is my mum also contributed her testimony in the book. Many times I felt like giving up and told God I couldn't go on writing it, so very tough but God just reaffirmed, encouraged me and said "My child, you can do it, you can, go on with it".

I also want to thank God for my close Christian friends, my ministry leader, my cell leader and close cell members and Hospital Visitation Ministry friends, my former youth pastor of FGT who encouraged me and some prayed for my writing of the book. It was also through them that impacted my life and played a significant part in my perseverance and determination in writing the book to completion. I thank God for all of them.

This book is priced at RM20.

20% of the proceeds will go to the 'Thalassaemia Friends Support Fund' where the money will be used for
1.The translation and printing cost for 'Pain In An Answered Prayer' into Chinese and Bahasa Malaysia. 2. The cost of photocopying for the 'Guidelines in Management of Thalassaemia' for Thalassaemia patients.

I visit the Thalassaemia patients at Hospital Ampang every week and every 2-3 weeks at UMMC to pray and share God's love with them.

Prayer of Dedication:
I pray and dedicate this book to God. I pray that His purpose and glory will be achieved through this book which I've written. I pray the readers will find hope, peace, strength, realization of God's love for them, a discovery of His purpose for their life, the reason they've been created & most importantly a conviction in their spirit to want to receive Christ as their personal Lord and Saviour.

My Birthday Dinner Celebration

On 22nd March 09, at 8pm, 11 of my cell members, close frens and half sister and brother celebrated with me, my b'day at Fork & Spoon Restaurant, Kota D'sara.
The neatly arranged strawberry wholemeal carrot walnut cake was tirelessly baked & tediously decorated by none other than ME!I spend almost 2 & 1/2 hours, 1 hour baking & 1 & 1/2 hours decorating it!
Well thank God, it turned out well & was enjoyed by everyone.
Food was ok but service was slow.
Anyway, it was a great celebration spending time and catching up with frens.
I also reflected on what God has done for me in the past 32 years of my life where I shared a brief testimony. (Please read below)

Good evening friends.
Thank you all very much for coming tonight to join me in celebrating my b’day.
The reason I’ve invited you all to celebrate my birthday today is because to testify God’s power, protection, goodness & faithfulness in 32 years of my life. It’s a miracle that I’m standing here, alive & well to be able to celebrate my 32nd birthday today.

As some of you know that I have a medical condition. When I was 8 months old, the doctors diagnosed me as a Thalassaemia major. Thalassaemia major is an inherited blood disorder which requires regular blood transfusion for the rest of that person’s life. The only cure for this is to undergo bone marrow transplant of which is not possible due to the incompatibility of both of my sisters’s marrow which was done when I was 10.

The doctors told my mum that I’ll only live up to 10 years old. But as you see, by God’s grace & power He has extended my life & given me a life span of more than 3 decades which has proven the doctors wrong!! PTL!
I also thank God for my family members especially my mum & 2 wonderful sisters who had taken care of me when I was a child. If it weren’t for my mum’s objection from disagreeing with the doctors to do the surgery to remove my enlarged spleen when I was young, I wouldn’t be alive today as well.
In addition, I also thank God too for His divine protection for the past 32 years of my life as I’ve met with 3 car accidents. Miraculously, by His supernatural power & protection, I sustained with only minor injuries. I’m grateful to God for sustaining & protecting me all these years.
All glory to Him!
I hope by my sharing you all will be encouraged & blessed.

What I learned from Ps Victor's sermon during YA camp 08 (25-27 Oct 08)

One thing I enjoyed about Ps Victor's sermon are his sense of humour and his practicality.
He not only preached but also shared his life testimony on how he actually pastored a church in Cheras which initially was very tough. In the end, the congregation & their children lives were changed and grew in their faith and walk with God.

He also shared with us a film titled, 'PS, I love you'. It talks about the love a husband even after he died, still left letters for his wife to read. The measure of a man is when a person dies.
Sometimes we have to live life one letter at a time...

Ps Victor also shared a book titled, 'Tuesdays with Morrie'.(Based on the Best Selling book) It's about mentoring. How a guy name Morrie mentored his mentoree.
When you know how to die, you know how to live...

On 25th Oct 08, I learned about the different type of boxes represent the type of person we are, our background, family and circumstances.
I learned that failure is not fatal.
We lead others by making mistakes. Life is lived forward but understood backward.
We should step out by faith and not be afraid to make mistake as long as we are in God's matrix
Deu 34:10.

On 26th Oct 08, I learned that we should 'Let Go, Let God & Let's Go.
Life is the exchange of my time for the things that I do. time can be snatched away, leak or spend.
Gen 39:1-23
1.To move forward, we must let go of our SUCCESSES...
-Success can be a setback. Psalm 16:7
2. To move forward, we must let go of our FAILURES...
-Failure is not Final.
3. To move forward, we must let go of OURSELVES...
-Character before competence
-Who we are is more important than what we do.
-Attitude comes before reality

-Punishment, rebuke can hurt us but it's for our good.
Eg: When God wants an inventor, He chose a slower- Isaac Newton
-Ask for God's favour

On 27th Oct 08, I learned that death has a strange way to bring meaning to life
Ecc 3:1-2, Psa 39:4-7
-We cannot change the cards we are dealth, just how we play it.
-Death is the destiny of every man Ecc 7:2
Psa 116:15- Wake up
"Accept the past as past, without denying it or discarding it.
"Death ends in life but not a relationship"
"Aging is not just decay . It's growth. It's more than the negative that we are going to die.
"Aging is also the positive that we understand we're going to die and that we live a better life because of it.
"Even God planned His own death"

The 6 types of boxes:
1. Blessing or Deco
2. Legacy or Memory
3. Burn On or Burn Out
4. Useful or Useless
5. Comfort or Self Pity
6. Discovered or Lost

-We are all made for a purpose.
-We can turn out to be for good or bad.
-Everyone is like a pencil-made for a unique and special purpose.
-We were made to do Great things for God.

Ps Victor ended each session of his sermon with an awakening question/s in life...
Questions that would make us think & reflect on what we would do or how we want to do it.

What I learned from Ps Lee Choo's short sermon during YA camp

On the last day of camp, 27/10/08, Ps Lee Choo shared the 3 F'
What is the FOUNDATION of our life?
-What are our non negotiable basics in life.
2. What will our FOCUS on in this journey of life?
-Whether its work, walk with God, success.
3. What does a FULFILLED life look like?
-Never blame other people on our own life.
-Decide to keep living with one focus in life.
-Being someone's friend is more important than having a friend.
-Eg: Connect with others in YA.
